aaah i wanted to not fixate too much on getting a really clean 100% perfect reference up immediately, so i'm going to be updating this slowly over time instead! maverick is our model for this sheet!

height: minimum of 1” and maxmum of 2’5”
lifespan: indefinite
sex and gender distinctions: single sex, nongendered, take on adaptive gendered language according to cultures they’re communicating with

bones: semi-flexible carbon compound
muscle: complex “succulent” tissue
blood: thick sap
scent: fresh and sweet, like a healthy garden

∆ sparks divide their senses into 11 catagories
-eyesight: the ability to visually perceive their surroundings using the extended visual wavelength spectrum with the dark band across the center of their eyes

-glowsight: the ability to see light levels and depth through the phosphorescent crystaline photoreceptive structures that allow spark fangs and eyes to glow

-ear-hearing: the ability to hear audio wavelengths between very high and low frequency with their large ears

-fur-hearing: the ability to perceive the environment 360 degrees around themselves at a mid-range radius by sensing and processing air vibrations on their fur as a three-dimensional mental map of their immediate surroundings

-antennae-sense: the ability to perceive relative position of magnetic poles, electrical energy in the air, and gravitational waves, which provides a detailed internal compass and enhanced sense of balance

-smell: the ability to detect chemical molecules in the air in great detail, including pheremones, odors and atmospheric chemical makeup.

-taste: the ability to detect taste inside the mouth, especially on the tongue but also around the gums, throat and roof of their mouth

-thermoception: the ability to sense air temperature through the skin. millenia ago this sense was delinked to a pain response, as extreme temperatures no longer physically damage them

-pressure sense: the ablity to feel contact and pressure on the body, roughly translated as ‘touch’. this sense has been partially delinked from a pain response, despite the pressure still being felt with great accuracy, as sparks are nearly indestructible

-pain sense: the ability to sense damage done to the body. this sense has been honed down and highly specified with time as their bodies became resistant to actual damage. when real damage occurs they will feel enough pain to ensure survival, though no more than great discomfort; they discovered that "over-reacting" to pain is an impediment to survival

-pleasure sense: the ability to perceive positive stimulation on the body, which has been gently tuned and enhanced over the years for stronger and longer lasting positive reactions to positive stimulation


other notes: sparks unified racially and culturally over several thousand years, hundreds of millions of years ago. racial differences used to incorporate fur length and texture, head shape, stature, eye shape, fang types and ear-antennae alignments. their languages unified fairly quickly, as their nature is inherently trusting and open with their own species



IMPORTANT NOTES
∆ They have short little pug-like faces, and their eyes almost line up with their nose
∆ Sparks have almost identical feet to Brites; this type of foot recurs in several species on their planet which are distantly related in their evolutionary lines
∆ Spark tails are broad and flat at the tip, like a paddle. It's difficult to see this on especially fluffy ones, however
∆ Their eyes have no pupils, just a dark band through the middle which processes certain non-color wavelengths
∆ Their noses, palms, and soles of their feet are not fluffy like the rest of their skin, though are still fairly soft to touch similar to human skin
